The date March 22, 2005 is a very significant one for Cody McCreanor. It was the date he was adopted by a new family. This family didn’t have to adopt him, surely there were many options, but they chose the young man that would become Cody McCreanor. He was given a home, a name, a new life, hope, and a future. Surely one of the most significant dates of his young life.
The date August 11,2017 is also a very significant one for Cody McCreanor. It was the date he was adopted into the household of God.
4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. (Ephesians 1:4-6).
Cody McCreanor can understand this passage in a unique way many of us will never be able to. He understands what it is like to be accepted, to be redeemed, to be made whole. Being adopted now by God into his household, Cody is once again given a new life, a hope, a future.
We are not adopted because we are perfect, we are not brought into the home of God because of our good deeds, there is nothing about us that is particularly special other than the fact God see’s us as special.
The date March 22, 2005 and the date August 11, 2017 are incredible parallels in the life of Cody McCreanor and an amazing testimony of how much God loves us and will do anything to show it.
