In this lesson, the children will learn:
- God always keeps His promises, as affirmed in Jeremiah, Matthew, and Numbers—He neither lies nor changes His mind.
- Jesus fulfills those promises, the promised “Immanuel” born of a virgin, who saves us and brings eternal life.
- We can trust God’s promises in our own lives, knowing He orders our steps, works all things for good, and completes the good work He’s begun in us.

“The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah.”
Matthew 1:22-23
“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ (which means ‘God with us’).”
Numbers 23:19

2. What would you tell a friend about why Jesus came to earth?
3. How does knowing Jesus fulfills God’s promises make you feel about Christmas?

Point 3: We Can Trust God’s Promises in Our Lives
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Philippians 1:6

Reflective Questions:
1. Can you think of a time when you trusted God? What happened?
2. What is one area in your life where you can trust God more? 3. How can you remind yourself daily that God is with you?
