Sept 7th-9th: Annual Camping Trip!

To  fellow campers,

Our annual camping trip will be here before you know it. We have scheduled it for Friday September 07 through Sunday September 09 at Hammonasset Beach State Park.  The cost for each site is $20 (resident) $30 (Non Resident) cash.  Also,  Monday September 10, 2018 is Rosh Hashanah so a few of us are planning to stay Sunday night and leave Monday.  this will cost an extra $20 (resident) $30 (Non Resident).

Below is a suggested list of things to bring if you haven’t camped before .  Remember that preparation is key to a relaxed and fun filled weekend. Take the time to prepare a menu.  Possibly, even cooking some items before you go, especially if you don’t want to spend a lot of time preparing or cleaning at the campsite.  There is a sink near the bathrooms that you can use to wash your dishes. You will need dishwashing liquid, sponge and towel. Kitchen items are important.  Think of all the ingredients you use when you cook- i.e. salt, pepper, sugar other spices, knives, spoons, spatulas, serving dishes, bowls and so on. When creating your menu think of these things so you won’t be left without the ability to cook your meal.   Also, think of the things that you will be doing for the day. Keep in mind that you aren’t home and think about what you will need to get the tasks accomplished. Take whatever you can to make yourself comfortable. Remember to bring yourself a chair. Don’t forget your daily medications!

Saturday evening at 6pm we will have a potluck dinner.  We will set up tables and everyone can place their prepared meal on the table for all to share.  You will bring your own plates, utensils and chairs for your families. We will all join in thanking God for the feast and then dig in.

Sunday Services will be at Hammonasset Beach State Park  (http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325082) starting at 10AM.  If you are not camping, there is an entrance fee of $0 (resident) $22 (Non Resident) cash.  Remember to bring chairs, blankets, lunch and bathing suit if you want to swim.

If you have any questions you can call either me at 203.257.3721 or Rick Velez at 203.520.0045  or email me at [email protected].

Let us all prepare for this fun filled weekend to  have a great time together!

Sincerely,

Rick Stine
