Camille Goodman was baptized into Jesus on October 8, 2017! She made the decision to make Jesus Lord of her life after many realizations in her journey to this point. I asked Camille what really helped her to make the decision to make Jesus Lord of her life and she said, “I didn’t want sin to run my life anymore and have hatred towards God anymore, because it was tiring and I was making up dumb reasons to be mad at him“. Camille realized that the only way to be free from sin was to obey the teaching of Jesus, as Jesus says in John 8:31-32: “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Something else that Camille believes was instrumental in reaching this decision was the word of God and her understanding of his Word through studying the bible. Since really studying the bible, Camille gained incredible insight and perspective on why God would allow her to go through some painful surgeries. Camille says of her surgeries that “i think without them i wouldn’t be a disciple.” Drawing closer to God through his really gave meaning to the physical and emotional pain Camille has gone through in her recovery process for her surgeries.
Since making the decision to repent, call Jesus Lord, and get baptized, Camille has seen God working in her life in incredible ways. Camille’s says of her new life with Christ: “God has changed my heart so much!! He’s made me love myself and be proud of my surgeries. He’s helped me to be more open and loving towards people. Also, he has shown me my need for him and how I have to be consistently reminded of why I’m a disciple and how different I was before I was a disciple”
What an incredible testimony of Gods power!
