We did the third class in the “One Another” series on Tuesday.
To illustrate the different kinds of “One Another” relationships, the guys first played a couple rounds of the “Balance” game – where the goal is to knock the other guy off balance without losing your own… Then, Kent, Randy, Fred, Corey and Gil matched strengths in arm-wrestling. I wish the pictures below could capture all the… hootin’ an’ a hollerin’ going on as well – it was a blast and a fun way to kick off the class…
Some of the key points we covered…
-
We covered chapters 6, 9, and 10 in the One Another book.
-
After the greatest commandment of loving our God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength is to love our neighbor as our self – indicating the relevant importance of “One Another” relationships.
-
With that in mind, we need to accept responsibility for one another, and not assume it is someone else’s job, or be so pre-occupied with our own needs that we neglect one another.
-
Regardless of results, the motivation and goals of teaching, admonishing, encouraging, or spurring one another on is for sole benefit of the recipient to grow, mature, and transform more into the likeness of Christ.
I hope everyone had as good a time in the class as I had leading it!
